The Paddo Long Lunch

The occasion

Long lunches in Sydney are everyone’s favourite way to celebrate life’s great pleasures - whiling away an afternoon, catching up with friends, slowly grazing on delicious food and sipping on refreshing drinks. To welcome the longer days and rising temperatures, The Paddo Inn has come up with a very enticing Long Lunch event that captures all this and more.

On offer is a lavish lunch served with bottomless rosé in the stylish surrounds of a Paddington favourite. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, looking for a lazy long lunch or just recognise an epicurean bargain, this is the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Get the gang together, kick off a hen’s party or impress your foodie friends - anyone who loves good food, good wine and good times will love the Paddo Long Lunch.

The food

Your indulgent long lunch has an abundance on offer with snacks and sharing plates for the table and a main dish to choose for yourself, plus sides. That’s a wide variety of flavours to complement your rosé that pairs nicely with the freshness of this spring-inspired menu from head chef, Stephen Scott, who is showcasing a blend of the seasonal colours and the quality meat and seafood on offer at this time of year.

Kick off the journey with oven-fresh sourdough bread and butter, mixed olives and ham and gruyere potato gems that have our regular diners wanting more. This’ll go nicely with your first few glasses of vino!

Next, it’s time to choose two sharing plates for the table. There are two enticing vegetarian options that are bursting with colour and flavour – ox heart tomato with stracciatella, or zucchini with hazelnut and mint. Chicken liver parfait with green tomato chutney, or charred WA octopus with green beans and taramasalata. All go beautifully with the wine.

If you had to compromise on your choice of the shared plates, now you get to be selfish and pick exactly what you want for your main dish. That’s easier said than done when your options are snapper with summer greens, roast lamb loin with fennel, sirloin with baby gem lettuce, or gnocchi with roast broccolini, golden raisins and parmesan. Perhaps another glass of wine as you decide?

The menu really does tick all the boxes and has the makings of the perfect Long Lunch feast.

The wine

Rosé is everybody’s favourite warm weather drink and the Cape Mentelle Rosé from Margaret River really delivers.

It’s a fresh, vibrant expression of the traditional dry rosé style - delicate, fresh aroma and colour, framed by generous fruit and a refreshing acidity. This is a perfect summer beverage, ideal for sharing with friends.

With a blend of shiraz and Grenache, the Cape Mentelle Rosé is a versatile wine that will match the simplest to most elaborate dishes. We think it’s perfectly suited to the charred octopus sharing plate, or the freshness of the lamb roast main option, but really, it goes with any of the menu items. And whatever your choices, two hours of bottomless rosé is hard to beat!

The options

The Long Lunch caters to all tastes with three options available for diners. Enjoy all the food for $55 per person or go for the bottomless rosé package for $75 per person. If you’re looking for a full afternoon of fun, why not start and finish the rosé package with a cocktail for $100 per person.

The Paddo Long Lunch is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Wine will be served for two hours.

Went here on Saturday for a girls long lunch, had the Bottomless Rose luncheon - wow so much amazing food and incredible value. The salad and steak were a highlight! And that espresso martini at the end was delicious. Staff was attentive and service was great, overall I will definitely be back!

I recently dined at the trendy Paddo Inn. At the moment they have a long lunch option with bottomless rose!!! Already a bonus in my books :) From the moment I arrived the service and atmosphere was so fantastic and welcoming. The menu was simple and easy to read and to order from. And our waitress took us through the long lunch so well. Each dish was delicious with bold flavors and not too many ingredients to make it to complicated. The rose kept flowing without being overboard, and the best part of the day was ending the meal on a handmade Espresso Martini. Absolutely brilliant way to end the meal with a bang. I highly recommend trying The Paddo Inn long lunch tops on my list!
